BlueApprovRSM aims to improve patient care and provider response times
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) is proud to introduce BlueApprovR, a new tool that offers real-time approvals for a large portion of medically necessary requests. More than 60% of requests are approved in real-time.
BCBSOK received at least 88,000 prior authorization requests in 2022 alone. BlueApprovR is an intelligent solution built to streamline and accelerate the prior authorization (PA) process up to 1,400 times faster than current speeds. This tool responsibly integrates both artificial and augmented intelligence to positively transform the PA experience.
“Blue ApprovR is yet another way BCBSOK sets itself apart by connecting quality healthcare to our members in an expedited manner,” said BCBSOK Chief Medical Officer Todd Hoffman, M.D., CPE.
As the official portal for recommended clinical review and some BCBSOK prior authorizations, the BlueApprovR platform was built by providers for providers to simplify the process and streamline the steps to submit a request.
Designed to be conversational, BlueApprovR asks a minimal number of questions when submitting a request. Allowing the provider to expedite the treatment of patients and members while making sure the right care is delivered at the right time is why BlueApprovR was created.
