Stillwater Medical Center Terminating Its Blue Cross Medicare Advantage^SM Contract

Stillwater Medical Center notified us that it will leave our Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (HMO)^SM and Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (PPO)^SM networks on Jan. 1, 2023.

We will notify impacted members at least 30 days prior to the term date.

Why it matters: As of Jan. 1, 2023, Stillwater Medical Center will be out-of-network for Medicare Advantage members:

• Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (PPO) members can still use Stillwater Medical Center if they are out-of-network, but out-of-pocket costs may be higher.
   
• Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (HMO) members may only use Stillwater Medical Center in life-threating emergencies.
   
• Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Flex (PPO)^SM and Blue Cross Group Medicare Advantage Open Access (PPO)^SM members can continue to see Stillwater Medical Center providers at their same coverage level for covered benefits if the providers:
  • Agree to see the member
  • Accept Medicare assignment and
  • Will submit the claims to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK)

Finding in-network care: If Stillwater Medical Center leaves our Medicare Advantage network, we are here to help members who want to stay in-network move their care. To find options for in-network hospitals, members may:

• Call the number on their member ID card, or
• Visit our Medicare Advantage Provider Finder^® for individual and retiree group members
