This summer we will require users to authenticate their identity when logging in to Blue Access for Producers^SM (BAP) that goes beyond submitting a username and password.
 
Why it matters: Multifactor authentication is critical to securing data. With hackers finding new ways to steal health and financial information, it’s more important than ever to keep data protected.
 
What you can do now:

• Check out the FAQs and run through a checklist  to make sure you can access BAP tools after multifactor authentication is launched. Make changes to your profile now, not after launch.
• If you manage delegates, review their profiles today. Here’s what you need to know .
• If you are a producer and don’t use BAP, you should register . All you need to get started is your 9-digit producer ID number.

We’re working hard to protect customers’ sensitive and private information. Later this month, when you use your existing password to log in to Blue Access for Producers (BAP), you’ll see a new dialogue box asking you to:

• Re-enter your current password. Going forward, BAP will recognize the re-entered password, including any upper and lowercase letters and special characters
• Choose new challenge questions and answers

Who will see the security upgrade message? All users with an active BAP user ID and password will be asked to make the security upgrades. Employer groups will see a similar message in Blue Access for Employers^SM and will also be asked to upgrade their security settings.
 
Safeguarding your information remains a top priority. We are implementing several changes to strengthen security. More security enhancements are coming – as described in the multifactor authentication article above. Watch this newsletter for updates.
