New On-exchange Enrollment Solution Powered by HealthSherpa
All new: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) is excited to announce it now offers a producer-controlled on-exchange enrollment pathway powered by HealthSherpa. Beginning tomorrow, you can access the HealthSherpa platform via your Retail Producer Portal account.
The same but different. Many producers use HealthSherpa’s main site to enroll clients in on-exchange qualified health plans (QHPs) today. When you access the HealthSherpa platform via your Retail Producer Portal account, the enrollment process will work the same: HealthSherpa’s dynamic and streamlined application allows you to enroll a client in less than 10 minutes.
There is one big difference: When you access the platform via the Retail Producer Portal you’ll only see BCBSTX QHPs.
On-exchange vs off-exchange enrollment: Producers enrolling applicants in off-exchange plans should continue to use the Retail Producer Portal via the Enrollment tab. For more details on off-exchange enrollment, see our guide

Beginning tomorrow, you can log into the Retail Producer Portal and get started. Here’s what you need to know:
- Producers must complete plan year 2023 Marketplace registration and training to use the HealthSherpa tool. Check your registration status first.
- You must have a Retail Producer Portal account to access the HealthSherpa on-exchange enrollment tool. If you don’t have a Retail Producer Portal account, here’s how to register .
- Once you’re in the portal, you must create a HealthSherpa account. If you already have a HealthSherpa account through their main site, you’ll need to create a second one with a different email address. You won’t be able to use your existing HealthSherpa account when accessing the tool via the Retail Producer Portal.
- Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) allows HealthSherpa to fully integrate with healthcare.gov. After you complete HealthSherpa onboarding, remember to click “Enable EDE” from your dashboard. (For more details on EDE, read this from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services).
- Remember, you can complete off-exchange enrollment applications via the Retail Producer Portal. The HealthSherpa tool is for on-exchange enrollment only.
