BCBSOK and Stillwater Medical Center Negotiating New Contracts

Our contracts with Stillwater Medical Center (Stillwater) expire on Dec. 31, 2022. We’re working with Stillwater and hope to reach an agreement before the deadline. Our goal is to protect our members and customers while providing access to quality care at affordable rates.

Why it matters: If we don’t reach an agreement, Stillwater Medical Center will no longer be in these networks as of Jan. 1, 2023:

Member transition period: If we don’t reach an agreement by Jan. 1, 2023, our members may continue to receive care at in-network rates at Stillwater through May 1, 2023. This gives members 120 days to consider their health care options.

Impacted facilities: The following facilities are part of this negotiation:

Stillwater Medical Center
1323 W. 6th Ave.
Stillwater Medical - Perry
501 14th St.
Stillwater Medical - Blackwell
710 S. 13th St.

Why negotiate: As a customer-owned health insurance industry leader in Oklahoma for 82 years, we advocate on our members’ behalf for quality, cost-effective health care. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously.

Finding in-network care: If Stillwater leaves our networks, we’re here to help members who want to stay in-network move their care. To find options for in-network facilities, members can:

Care for ongoing conditions: Members who are pregnant or being treated for a disability, acute condition or life-threatening illness may qualify as continuity-of-care patients. This means they may still be able to receive care at Stillwater at in-network rates even after the transition period ends. Members can call the number on their member ID card to find out if they are eligible.

More information: We will notify Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) members with claims at Stillwater 30 days prior to the term date. For the latest information, visit Please contact your BCBSOK representative with any questions or concerns.
